    SS Camo Wrap

    Hello, all!
This was just posted on the Collector's Guild. Looks pretty good to me. What's the consensus:

Looks good from the pictures. Peter Whamond usually knows what he is doing... he also has a matching pair of trousers there from a different source... would make a nice set.

Is it just me or is Peter having a problem with his website? I can't access it or the posted link.

It will work later. He is probably doing some maintenance right now.

          Try a forced refresh

          Glenn,

That seems a common problem when Peter updates his site and the millions start flocking to hunt things down...

(Probably is a bandwidth problem, though)

Anyway, if you use an IBM-based browser, you might want to try a forced refresh (Control + f5 function key)

          Regards,
          Bob

PS I'm having similar problems on a Mac, although I do not know how to do a forced refresh there, so I just keep reloading the page.

Of all the internet, Peter's site is the most trustful. I haven't seen a repro being hawked there yet. Oh, and he just had an update with a number of hats and uniforms which caused the problems accessing it.

              Thanks Bob,

Yes, probably a bandwidth thing. Still can't access it using Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox

Yes Peter is very trustworthy. He gets some great stuff.

Looks like a good SS camo wrap at a very fair price, considering the rarity of originals.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

Well, just to clearify. There is yet to be a dealer who hasnt had a fake on his site yet. Same goes for this site. Even though its among the best, maybe the best.

The panzer wrap is looking really nice. I would love to buy it but I dont have the cash.

Would you guys have restored it with an original eagle?

                  Cheers,

                  Felix

I concur with the rest of the guys..a very nice wrap and a reasonable price. As for the eagle..I don't know if I would add one...it would make it sparkle a little more but you have to explain it to the next guy who eventually owns it.

I wouldn't have a problem restoring an eagle on it because there was one on it at one time. I might take a photo of the area first before I restore it to show the next owner that there was an eagle on it at one time. I don't have a problem with RESTORED original insignia. It also has the loops on the shoulders for straps but I cannot see any buttons, which must have been there if the loops are there. So I wouldn't mind restoring a couple of buttons too and then finding appropriate slip on shoulder straps. You are restoring it to what it once was, albeit you don't know for sure what rank it was. Then again original panzer straps are so damned difficult to find and acquire that whatever you pick up would do.

I would restore it too and I agree this wrap is a nice thing to have but $ix grands in your hand is good too.
By the way, both buttons are there - from description: "The eagle outline and the shoulder strap retaining buttons and loops would indicate an early production model as later models were produced without these features."
And to refresh you only hit F5, no CTL needed.

I don't look down on restored items as long as every part on them is original and the restoration is done in the right way.

                            Good evening Fellows,

Perhaps you are all right and this thing would check out OK....But, from how the picture look, those two small black buttons "have no business" being on the inside "flap" of the jacket the way that it appears they are (at least not from the factory)

A big to Peter. NEVER had a problem with anything I bought from him. Great selection, and he always has some wicked rare items for sale.

                              Rob.
