    Never Burn Youe Bridges

My excitement in desiring a response to satisfy my aspiration to conclude to the origins/originality of a skull in this forum has caused, in my opinion, unnecessary negativeness married with a spice of arrogance.
As for suggesting it if of no importance or interest whatsoever does suggest to me that there are certain people in this SS forum with enormous delusions of greatness. Notwithstanding my ignorance in prompting questions on this forum - I am no fool and will think twice before asking opinions in this forum again.

Geez, you are getting too "red in the face" here! No need to get so angry, just be patient. There are not many that have knowledge of the early skulls, and if you just bump the thread maybe someone may answer you......

I agree with Reichsheini and also Redfaced. Reichsheini has accurately pointed out that these early skulls are difficult to distinguish authenticity and it is going to take the right forum member to view the photos and make some determination. I collect SS stuff but prefer the 1942-45 stuff and not the 1933-39 stuff, so I wouldn't bother with offering up an opinion. On Redfaced side of things, I saw a couple of the responses to his thread and I think that if forum members cannot answer the question, then don't leave feedback of another nature. Of course Redface, it appears that you are a bit anxious and I understand the excitement of collecting, but your opener left you open to this kind of response. So I ask that you use some patience and the right member (collector) will eventually see your stuff and try and make a valid assessment. There's no need of getting hot under the collar.

My response to redfaced was in regard to his creating a second thread simply to draw attention to the first. What I attempted to point out to him was that using a “bait and switch” thread is not simply poor forum etiquette, but it may in fact have the exact opposite effect from that which he sought by irritating the same people from whom he wishes assistance. Rather than take this friendly advice, our hot-headed friend has now started this third thread, which is still nothing more than a continuation of the second, which was nothing more than a continuation of the first—but who’s counting?

And my response was to say that it is a relic condition skull which looks like it has been ground-dug. No-one else seemed intent on following the trail of links and replying so I did.
What I said I believe is true,I have no time at all for ground dug items, and to me they hold no value at all.The skull is beyond what I would call collectable condition anyway and you can tell squat from the posted picture. It is,as I said,of no interest to me what-so-ever. BUT to post a string of links, complain because no-one bothers to reply and then bitch about the reply is not the best start I'm sure you'll agree, and one leading to an entry in the ignore list.

          "but who’s counting?" Not I.

          Warm regards,Ian Hulley.

            superciliousness

You have no interest in ground dug items, but that is not to say that there may be other members who would be. I find it so displeasing to see some of the negative comments just because I dared to ask a question in what is, in my humble opinion, to be the whole point of the forum. Would you moan if you saw somebody eating a cheeseburger in Burger King? Maybe, you would be perplexed if you saw someone filling up their car with fuel at a petrol station. As for the childish threat to ignore me, well - go for it.
I will help you however, I'll give my opinion on you (in alphabetical order)

i scrolled down a little and saw that there are now FOUR interlinked threads created just to call attention to one item. regardless of what kind of item it is, this is silly.

"Never burn your bridges" - Very ironic title seeing as though your managing to do the exact opposite in fact.

                  "Redfaced" - You should be!

In conclusion, you are a rather yawnful individual, certainly beyond all doubt, arrogant. Certainly not the character, ironically required by the SS, who believed above all else to be sound comradship. Perhaps a rather unkempt character whose arrogance is an escape from the trials and misgivings of his uninteresting and uninspiring life.

Without making it personal that is

"aloofness, audacity, braggadocio, chutzpah, conceitedness, contemptuousness, crust, disdain, disdainfulness, ego, gall, haughtiness, hauteur, high-handedness, hubris, imperiousness, insolence, loftiness, nerve, ostentation, overbearance, pomposity, presumption, pretension, pretentiousness, pride, priggishness, scornfulness, self-importance, self-love, smugness, swagger, vanity"

Now I'm 40 years old, from England (almost) speak English (with a Northern accent) but I haven't got a bl%dy clue what half of that lot means 'Crust' now there's a new insult on me ! I guess Gary'll have a few kind words of his own.

                      Ian.

(P.S. I DO object to "unkempt" ... 'cos I had a shave this morning AND I prefered the "Brass" and "Cheek" parts too, before you looked 'em up and edited 'em out )

NO Mike !!You missed the early Mk1 version with "Brass" and "Cheek" in it,mind I do like "Chutzpah" ,whatever that means. My wife and daughter's will love the fact that I have a "uninteresting and uninspiring life." I wish it were that boring ! AND that I'm "Certainly not the character, ironically required by the SS"

                          pretentiousnessly yours,Ian.

I guess you have to have the character of Dirlwanger and his poachers, Eicke and his KZ guards, Heydrich and his SD and those of the Einsatzgruppen! Darned the bad luck... I'd miss out on the SS requirements too then! Guess it's back to the Boy Scouts for me...
