The sole difference I can see from those pictures, which I greatly appreciate seeing, is the detail of the oakleaves on the example I got from Ron shown at the first part of this thread. I had no idea another example existed. It has a plain top with no detailed carving.
Can you let me know what the full name of the book is that picture is shown in? I would like to find a copy of it.
I would assume this wouldn't go cheap, but anyone want to venture a guess as to value today? I don't mean to be crass, but there isn't much to compare it to.
