Waffenfarbe opinions please- GJ or Panzer grenadier?

    Hi Guys,

Would appreciate your opinion on the branch identity of the enlisted strap shown on right. The NCO is a very clear GJ but the other is much lighter and brighter green colour. I know that the shades of green were used quite flexibly and that there is some level of variation.

    Many thanks for your help

I agree with Baka . Panzer grenadier green is usually lighter still , sometimes referred to as toxic green amongst collectors back in the day . Nice straps though

Is the right answer SS Police Rifle units also used a lighter green piping.

Anybody has a pair of SS Pz-Gren boards you can post so we can see the difference in the green piping?

Ah thanks all wasn’t aware they wore white, first time I heard that. I guess most of the colour charts you see are wrong. So could these be rifle units piping instead of GJ?

textbook GJ waffenfarbe you has here ,that uscha pair may fit for police rifle units as its early construction pair ,but no one can tell for sure here.

Why are you saying that number 3 is SD ? At what point in the war did the SD wear regular Waffen SS shoulder straps with green piping ?

It is my understanding that they wore Police shoulder boards with inner cords being black or in the case of the lowest rank, all cords being black for SD as shown in the diagrams (from the Mollo books ?) below,
