Not commenting on the actual ring found in photos.-

The only official SS Skull ring was the SS Totenkopf Honor ring. There were many different skull patterned rings but they were private purchase. Anyone with the money could have bought one. True that most were bought or received as presents by members of the armed forces and para military..
The one you show so far has never been found on a 3rd reich period era advertisements but has been in production before the war, and is still in production today. So an old pattern for sure and possible to be found at a German battlefield site or in a grouping.
