    EKM Lettisches SS Freiwilligen Regiment 2

    Good evening.
    I came across this Lettisches SS Freiwilligen Regiment 2 EKM on an auction, I know there is a sea of fakes outside there, but...after taking a look & comparing it to known originals - I think that there is nothing wrong with this one, at least I didn´t see any red flags, but I would like to and would appreciate to hear Your helpful opinions regarding this EKM to be sure about it´s authenticity before buying it. Please correct me if I am wrong

    Brief history:

    The SS-Freiwilligen Regiment 2 (Lettische) was formed from three battaillons- (24. Talsu bataljons, 26. Tukuma bataljons un 18. Kurzemes bataljons) :

    24. Talsu bataljons - I Bataillon / Lettische SS-Freiwilligen Regiment 2 with 3 kompanies (1-3);

    26. Tukuma bataljons - II Bataillon / Lettische SS-Freiwilligen Regiment 2 with 4 kompanies (4-7);

    18. Kurzemes bataljons - III Bataillon / Lettische SS-Freiwilligen Regiment 2 with 8 kompanies (8-15).

    The cadre was later used in the formation of the 19. Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS (lettische Nr. 2) in January 1944.

    The EKM I posted belonged to the III Bataillon.
