The Hoheitszeichen is alright. This kind of badge was, indeed, used on SS caps, albeit infrequently. I shall leave the Danzigertotenkopf to others. In this connection, the moderator's views are very sound, as are those of colleagues Hassler, Toncar, Coleman, Chapman and Lumsden. This Totenkopf seems somewhat different, but there exist a wide variation with these badges. Postscriptum: Oops, I left out colleague Hritz. Sorry.

I've never seen a TK quite like that, but the construction is fine so I would not rule it out as an authentic variant. If it was a fake, I think I would have seen others, which I haven't.

Totenkopf is a nice original as is the eagle. However, the eagle is for the early political leader's visor hat. In original period photographs, you may occasionally find this eagle being worn, on an SS visor hat. However, it is not intended for this purpose.
