        Very, very nice John, that beak reminds me of this slightly odd-ball example that I picked up and posted in this thread which you commented on at the time https://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/for...officer-eagles

        A long time collector once said to me that when you can pick an original variation from the norm then you have truely come of age in this game.
        The longer I collect the more I reflect on how true that statement has proved to be.

          One exactly like it sold on a sponsors site. But not too many people are familiar with original bullion sleeve eagles or do the research to gain the knowledge. This is a common textbook variety as is Chris Eagle, the three strands of bullion on the legs are the feet.
