I cannot comment the straps themself and they are probably originals but I'm just wondering why a 'simple' soldier would buy anything for his uniform ? Why order something from a store or from a seamstress/tailor when you are a soldier enlisted in the army ?

Oh, I have an possible answer: My Grandfahter was an Obergefreiter, and he pimped up his best M43 tunic with complete dark green backing insignias for a better look when he was at home after his lazaret time. Even EM had a personal taste of fashion.
