JC.
The strap's 5th Cavalry - faded yellow. Tresse is Luft. which was not uncommon on army (and Waffen-SS) straps later in the war.
Donald.
These 'cache' TKs still appear regularly on eBay. The original finder sold a huge number and some of the buyers are still trying to re-coup their outlays. I think that once these are gone..... they'll be gone for good. A bit like the Danzig SS ID cache from the late 1980s. So anyone wanting one of these should strike now while the iron is hot, I think. I bought 2, although when the envelope arrived from the US it had 4 skulls in it! (True story). Maybe they breed in envelopes too.
Crowback.
I think the females have the biggest smiles. The moral if the story is.......don't buy more than one skull. If you buy two, as soon as you turn your back there are three of them, then 4 the next week. I think they breed mathematically. But I was never any good at maths.
