    Agree since it is not a 1940 piece of headgear . I wonder if it is the same material as the tunic ?
    The tunic in the photo is quite awesome .

      Trying to zoom in on image posted, it looks more like German wool. Either smooth wool or trikot, Photo too distorted, definitely more field grey than Italian.

        It's a gabardine cap just like this one.

          I remember this tunic from about 5 years ago. It was being offered as an untouched piece but had some issues.
