    WSS/ Ustasha overseas cap opinions please

    Hi Guys,

    I picked this up which appears to be an SS cut enlisted overseas cap with an Ustasha aluminium badge on which is solid rather than stamped. I am not sure if the Ustasha wore SS caps but I guess it would make sense if they did.

    The wool is really course and the internal lining is made of 2 types of material- there is a ribbed rayon in the top section- maybe very late war made piece if original?

    Would appreciate your thoughts on whether or not the cap is genuine and if you know about the U badge then that would be great also! But I will ask for opinions on the relevant forum on that piece as haven't been able to find a matching one.

    I can't speak to the insignia, but the cap is certainly built right.

      Thanks Robert, I had owned a genuine SS officers schiff that had the same rayon lining but black rather than grey.
      so a repurposed SS enlisted cap - it doesn’t show any trace of eagle or skull so maybe some were issued direct to auxiliary forces?
