I can't say for sure, but I don't like it at all,
from what little I can see. The pins are certainly not right, (too wide),
the head looks wrong and it looks cast, but again,
I would need much better photos to be 100% sure.

Now, I can see that it is absolutely a cast reproduction.

            Define Cast

Chris, I am looking at several "real" eagles on this forum, and others. Construction appears to be the same as mine except pin attachment area. Thickness of metal, detail, head & chest etc.

Define Cast and characteristics of such:

            Thanks

I'll tell you one flaw. The tip on the end of the left bar of the swastika is connected to the oak leaf.

See the horizontal lines that are on the bottoms of each wing and run the length of the wing? I believe those are casting marks. This would be where the original eagle was pressed too deeply into the mold, and the poured metal overflowed the original size of the wing.

                  Swastika touching wreath..

Chris...for some reason that isn't cutting it. I have looked at the SS 499 42 M1/72 peices that you have approved in past threads...Swastika seems to be touching those wreaths as well...

                  CurtD...Believe or are they...(just a question..looking for facts)?

                  Please post your eagles.

This bird appears to be a modern casting. If you study other examples you will find it has other flaws besides the swastika, pins and attachments. It would be unwise to reveal all on a public forum.

Please compare to this nice original m1/8 eagle.

This one is quite different. Please note that besides the detail being incorrect, thge bird you hace posted looks to have no age to it at all.

Also, I guess I should have been more specific about the swastika flaw.
It's not wrong that the swastika touches the oak leaf, but it''s the way it is
connected to it, (by a tiny, thin cast line).

                              Chris if you would....

PM me with more deals please. As it seems a "public" addressing of these things are NEVER posted as to lead the "copiers" on....My opinion, if the copiers wanted to they could make a "perfect" one... but the is MHO
