HI; I'm a new member. SS stuff is not really my bag. I'm way more into Japanese and Italian Rifles. But, I advertize for vet. buys in the Seattle area. Have for 45 years or so. In the past I have gotten 4-5 hands full of stuff from the SS works at Dacau. You know, the "Ost Turkisher Waffen Verband Der SS" cuff titles in green that existed only there in bales and so forth. I don't have a ton of books on this stuff. No real reason to. I don't get much of it. But, I have noticed I'm getting more the last five years from the kids than the previous 10 from the vets.
On Gunboards I am considered on of the "experts" on this stuff. I answer all sorts of questions for the newbies. I like helping newbies. They are the future of the hobbie. If the newbies are screwed over time and time again they will quit. If they all quit our collections will be worth nothing to our families. I was the only guy who got zero answers to my last two queries. I thought that they were reasonable queries. The shoulder board is not the end of the earth. But, the SS/HJ Russian Translator Apprentice is really rare and kind of cool.
I got several answers on one of your other boards for kind of a rare Luft. eagle. Maybe we can figure out something new? Maybe not. Anyway, people are trying. This is the value of these boards. Maybe SS collectors are to stuck up to help out a new guy? Maybe I asked the wrong questions? Maybe you guys can help me out here. Maybe not.
Thought I would add a PIC of my example of the well known charatible and philenthropic aspects of the SS. Doug
