Lets plaese keep this an SS thread! Thanks Rich

The member of SS-Feldgendarmerie in picture 3 is dressed according to regulations - between August 1942 and October 1944, all members of the gendarmerie were to wear the police eagle vice the SS eagle on their sleeve. Piped SS wrappers, while unusual, are not unknown - RK holder Alfred Siegling of Das Reich had his assault gun wrapper collar and tabs piped in aufklaurer yellow. Notice also that the visor of the TK officer is piped in a non-white waffenfarbe as well...

There are hundreds if not thousands of pictures of unusual SS uniform and insignia combinations - but collectors will always pay a premium for textbook standard.

only a novice would be fooled by the grooms uniform in this pic....note the incorrect collar tabs & the piping is wrong width! This is a classic example of "blending" placing fake items in the middle of period pieces (wehrmacht & police tunics are original)

                        we all call this fake

In picture 4 , another option could be that he was transferred from the Police as a re-enforcement to the Totenkopf Div. in 1939-40when it expanded, notice vertical skull collar tab. All three photos are very good studies in the expanded early Totenkopf Division, thanks for sharing them .

EXCELLENT thread! These pictures are obviously posed using film studio props and other badly faked uniforms - thank God these type things are in the bottom of our mistake boxes where they belong. The lengths the fakers will go to... s/f Robert

lol Johann! I must state this is not a thread trying to bust on anyone or make lite of the minefield anyone who collects SS items must walk thru each time they view a potential purchase. I am the grandson of a Waffen SS vet. I also spent many hrs with my dear friend Mike Beaver (R.I.P.) going over ALOT of SS insignia & this just goes to prove that when you think you have it all worked out BOOM! heres a period proof that smashes ones assumptions.... ok guys limme know or on this thread....I'll be glad to add more pics....& Im glad you guys see the humor in exposing the "fakers"
