That is original. A hoard of these was recently dug up in a field in Germany. They are in nickel or nickel-plate and non-magnetic. All have the 'ribbed' edges to the pins at the back. I call this particular style the 'haunted TK' because of the look of the eyes.

Before the German hoard was dug up, I had only ever seen this type in zinc, and very rarely.

Hallo Robin, thank you for your help !

The seller told me the same. The item was dug up in field in Germany! I think the skull looks ok. Other opinions?

Hi Karl, I had not heard this story before or seen this exact pattern of skull before either. The edges to the prongs are interesting. There are so many variations of these as we have discussed here in the past. But overall I like the look of this one. Sorry I cannot offer more than an opinion without any hard facts to back it up.

            Cheers, Ade.

Hi Adrian! Thank you for your opinion.

I bought the skull today and it is very interesting to hear a lot of different opinions. I'm pleased about further comments! Karl

Here is a picture showing just a small part of that hoard after it was dug up.

Donnerwetter! I would not have thought such possible, and, I would not have thought such a piece to be authentic. Many thanks. I am grateful for all of this, because one does find these on caps more often than I had ever thought possible, actually.
