I'm pretty sure this is real and even issued and worn but some of the stitching is so bad, did stuff like this get by late in the war?

Yes, original, commonly referred to as a Dachau panzer m43. I thought about it on estand too. Price was fair for a worn one, which are less common. An all original cap.Comment

Scott, you are right - the mottling on the underside of the bill is just the cardboard tone, and the cap doesn't show wear beyond that. My bad.
