Notice how the "new" stiching goes over the "old" stitching. Reapplied in my opinion.

It appears to be a good original SS base tunic in a decent size and condition. Really hard to say on insignia application; it doesn't appear to have had any collar tabs machine sewn on before to me.

Shallow embroidery style tabs were produced pre-1945 and have also been faked nicely. Insignia application is increasingly difficult to assess in pictures.

Gut read is an original tunic nicely decked out with junior enlisted insignia and cuff title to maximize bling appeal.

Hi robert. So your gut read might lean towards reapplied insignia ? Or period applied? Cheers

Yes. Collar tabs don't look particularly well seated, and can't see detail on the eagle and chevron. These typically left the factory with only eagles machine stitch attached, so I'd start with that. If all the insignia is sewn with the same thread, that's a good indicator it's reapplied.

Tunic is real, but complete rebuild. I never was a Fan of these late War Tabs, they where found after the War in Bundles and then sold cheap. Best way to deck out a naked Tunic and get the max out of it. Pay the Price what you have there in Parts, and you good to go. Job is well done, and much closer you will not get to the real Deal.

This does look resewn to me. Though sewn correctly, the eagle has edge damage that could not have occurred after it was sewn, and the chevron still has the puffiness between stitches and hasn't settled.

Still a nice and displayable tunic.

Nice original tunic I do like the runic tab not an easy one to find, if your comfortable with rebadged insignia then irs a keeper.
