Looks to be an original, pre war SS mess tin.
A mess tin would have an RZM mark because the SS was a political organization of the NSDAP. As such its uniforms , accoutrments and equiptment fell under the control of the RZM.
The German military (Army, Navy and Air Force ) did not. As the war production had to increase , items manfactured for the Waffen SS were released from RZM oversight.

Original markings in my opinion. Font of the mark on the canteen body is like in the example that I have. Font on the lid is like on the markings found on the canteen cups. Nice set.

I think your handle is fine. Paint on rivets seems to match the rest. Photos are not too good, so not all details are clear, but sufficient enough to say it is ok.
Mine is 46/34 coded, so different maker and marked in a little bit different fashion.
If you do a search on this forum you should find examples of the canteen cup marks from 39 coded maker that would match your lid.
