It appears to have the features it should from bias tape to sewing. I have seen the buttons sewn with the same length of thread on original M43s, but this is an easy detail to copy. As Ian stated, original insignia and looks like all original material used in construction. A lack of stamps other than size is encouraging.

It shouldn't, but the arbitrary slices through both insignia bother me. It's not wear but cuts, and the flap on the M43 does not produce wear such as seen on the skull IMO. It suggests bad removal (fez?) and placement on a candidate M43.

Two piece SS M43s are particularly sexy. Hard to say when this was put together, but since it's machine sewn the cap is either 100 percent original or recently fabricated, unless the liner shows signs of tampering.

I wouldn't dismiss this one yet.

The example seems to have excellent details and is very well constructed. Without being able to inspect it my skepticism remains. Although not limited to, I will start and finish with the observation that IMHO the insignia appears to be somewhat ‘artificially aged’.
