    Allgemeine Question

Hi, Were there any Allgemeine SS fighting units ?

    #2
Many Allgemeine SS were streetfighters in the beginning but if you mean armed SS units then you're talking about the Leibstandarte and SS-Verfügungstruppen. They became the Waffen-SS eventually.
Allgemeine SS were also used as security units on partyrallies and other special occasions.

      And the Totenkopfverbande.

The Totenkopfverbände were initially no combat or fighting units.
They were armed guard units for the concentrationcamps.
They eventually developped into the Totenkopfdivision by replacing the younger guards with older ones in order to send the younger to the front.

Best to show some photos. Are the awards from post-'39, as opposed to possibly ww1? Additionally, you could have proper loops just someone has put awards on there that don't actually fit. Doesn't mean not from the original owner, just that someone put those awards on his A-SS tunic as opposed to his 'combat' W-SS tunic. Showing some photos would assist.

Without pictures, I'd say "No way!" Although if the tunic is a real field gray Allgemeine SS tunic with WWI awards, it is possible. Possible, but a rare beast.

                  Hi,
Its not a real tunic,it was sold to me as a re-enactors tunic. The medal bar could
                  be OK.
                  Cheers

Here it is.What would be a suitable repro cufftitle to replace the one thats gone.
Note the two secret pockets either side of the rear vent.

I think W/44 idea seems the most plausable as someone could have been in the
Allgemeine SS and the Waffen SS at the same time. For some reason somebody
wanted a tunic that represented this and award loops were added.
This being the case, almost any repro SS cuff title can be put on it.
