          Definitely a post-war pickup by the vet. Certainly wouldn't be the first time a legitimate lot came with one or more stinkers. Btw, the two EM runic tabs you shared are lovely examples, especially the saltier one. I'd love to have that tab!

              The tab does appear to be an early 1970s vintage repro. I believe i also have a similar rank tab and the matching TK tab.

                Ron, I must agree with the rest of the guys. The Hauptsturmfuhrer (captain) tab is not a pattern I would want to add to my collection.

                Having said that, it is the kind of repro that does occasionally turn up in a legitimate veteran lot. One that is obvious to a collector experienced in that field, not the state of the art repro.

                Ron for a guy who doesn't collect SS, you have some nice stuff.
