It looks like a Kleiderkassevisor but it is not a typical Kleiderkassevisor.

I think more pictures are important.

From the pictures it looks like there is an impression of a previous TK outline.
So maybe replaced insignia. I've also not seen a Kleiderklasse SS visor with this material and interior. From these photos a "hands on" will be required.
      Just my 2 cents worth.

Thank You . The insignia have been replaced . Below is the description of the cap by Peter Jenkins

SS OFFICER VISOR IN NEAR MINT CONDITION.
THIS SUPERB SS OFFICER VISOR, IN CLASSIC SADDLE FORM, WAS A WALK IN AT THE RECENT KASSEL SHOW.
MISSING ONLY ITS INSIGNIAS, WHICH I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO REPLACE FROM MY COLLECTION, WITH A MINT ALU. DESCHLER SKULL AND SILVER WASHED CUPAL EAGLE.
THE VISOR HAS A HIGH QUALITY GREY WOOL BODY, WITH FINE BLACK VELVET BAND, ALUMINIUM CHINCORDS, AND SILVER SIDE BUTTONS.
WHITE PERFECTLY ABUTTED PIPING, WITH GOLD ARTIFICIAL SILK LINING, SWEAT DIAMOND IS MISSING TO TIME, AND LINING IS STAMPED SIZE 59.
IT STILL RETAINS ITS INNER CAP SPRING, AND ITS ORIGINAL SHAPE.
RARE TO FIND IN THIS CONDITION.

Is the band wool, or brushed cotton? It does not appear to be velvet on my monitor.

I thought the same and checked it twice.

And what is this at the piping?

It's velvet! so you’re insinuating if I understand well that Peter jenkins doesn’t know the difference between velvet and brush cotton ?

I will say even from the secondary photos here, it looks more like velvet in the War relics photos than the ones here where I can relate to the below notes of whether this is velvet?
