      Clearly it’s a real jacket.

When studying clear pictures tell a thousand words and this is clearly the case here.

It’s easy to make mistakes and one was made here on this jacket.
We all can learn and this is a perfect example of that.

      Thanks for showing

      Thank you for your reply!

Yes, I fully understand that the images of this prague jacket displayed on the Internet were always and only in very poor quality:-(
Museums are museums = almost none communication

        Hello ACD,

many thanks for providing good pictures of the tunic presented in the Prag museum !

It is a pleasure to say that we were wrong on this one, and that it is indeed an original.

I still don't understand museums that have no decent lightning to present their collection.

Do you have any info on the current location of this tunic ?

We are therefore back to 13 identified tunics so far.

        See You

        Vince

          Hi Vince,

By trade I’m an archaeologist and have a bit of experience with museums and curating. The reason for the poor lighting is that fabric or other artefacts can be damaged over time by strong lights, so they keep the environment as neutral as possible to preserve the items on display.

          Regards,

          Will

            Hello Will,

            ah yes, it is obvious.
Thanks for clearing that up. Even more with a "fragile" design like the Leibermuster.

            See You

            Vince

              Hi,

please find below better shots of the tunic previously owned by Jean-François Borsarello (presented on posts #42, #48 and #54).
Please note that the pants in the 1st and the 3rd pictures are showing the Belgian post-war 1955 Leibermuster model.

The additional pictures are showing original Leibermuster pants, courtesy of Robert Noss.

All those pictures are courtesy taken from "Les tenues camouflées pendant la Deuxième Guerre mondiale", Gazette des Uniformes Hors Série N°1, 1992, by Jean-François Borsarello.

              See You

              Vince
