Set of SS- Obersturmführer boards.

Hi.

A friend is interested in these.
I tend to like them at first glimpse from these photos. Though the edge of the black felt is unworn where the worn/missing silver braiding turns right under. Or is it overthinking?
Thus I would like to hear some opinions from others that they are not messed WH boards etc.

Nice original boards! I think the price is also good.

Difficult to say for certain, but I think these are OK. Most evidence of tampering would be black on black making it more difficult to see in photographs. And, I agree that the price is very good.

Personally I don't like them....for a few reasons.
They look like army Pioneer boards that have had the black piping added as shown in the pic below that I've circled.
At the end, the piping sticks out in a way that suggests the piping wasn't there when they were first constructed, and also where the pips have been added it looks as though they've had to push them in deep to allow for the extra thickness of the added black piping.
Mixed with a cheap price, I'd suggest passing on them IMHO.

I also agree that the piping looks to have been added. The construction is certainly not quite right. That said, it is not impossible that the added piping was period done.

Don’t get me wrong , I’m of defending the item, but no one would care if these shoulder boards were army (Heer ) no one would have a problem with them
But since they are SS, let’s take them a part and examine them, because ss stuff was made with extra precision
