The Russian Braid that you are showing in this image Stive,
is easy to pick as post war made. The inner cord is nothing like what they used in wartime or pre-war Russian braid for soutache.
And yes I agree, it is not hard to get post-war Russian braid and one can even find wartime Russian braid. However this is used mainly for soutache on caps not shoulder straps.
The correct Rayon piping for shoulder straps is no where near as easy to find as Russian braid in un-issued rolls. Some fakers, butcher WH and LW straps to to make fake SS and fake tropical straps,
I don't like these either. Piping looks original but they have issues like most of the stitching
I do not know what to make of them
SS items can have a lesser quality of stitching due to concentration camp and slave labor production in Ghettos.
Even the proper clothing factories that the SS took over as part of their empire had to press-gang labor to keep making things as the war progressed. This labor had to be trained on the job or learn as they went along.
For example, stitching on original SS camo often has rough/ poor stitching in places,
Strange that one pic shows that they were worn long enough to leave an imprint of the button on them, but the other pic shows an absolute mint, unused buttonhole stitching?
