    eagle & skull for review

I have my doubts, but the skull is side pronged, so I am not as familiar with those. but I would appreciate hearing what those in the know have to say -

    Thanks!

Can't comment on the eagle, but the skull looks like a good typical 3 prong skull. Reverse pic of the skull would be helpful.

      The eagle is original.

If that skull is on a cap the odds are it's an Alteste fake.

          Thanks Guys-

The insignia is/was on a silver piped "general's" hat so I always tread with extreme caution. I will post pics of the whole hat later tonight.

The skull is the 3 pronged version. These have been found ground dug and many think ok. Eagle as said is good late war Assman. Vince

As Ian stated, its an "Alteste Berlin Mutzenfabrik" cap. An early reproduction along with the standard insignia on these caps. I think every Allgemeine SS Alteste i have ever seen are generals caps like this.

Thanks guys, the soft sweat diamond, blotted out marking, silver piping, and the overall construction of the hat didn't speak to me.

                So just to confirm-

                Hat bad.
                Eagle good.
                Skull ?

The 3 prong skull is controversial, some believing them to be fake and others (myself included) believing them to be late war originals...

If you want to know a little more about that type of skull you can start here.
