Does anyone remember the name of the Jewish man that joined the waffen SS in France?

Hi,

Maurice Chicheportiche, born in Alger.

He is pictured with André Henriot on the train that departed on June 27 from Gare de l'Est to Mulhouse then Cernay to go to the SS-Ausbildungslager Sennheim.

Maurice will be sent, with other French volunteers racially "unfit" or who refused to enter the Waffen-SS at the Stutthof concentration camp in fall/late 1944.

Thanks. there was another Jewish man that fled Germany for France, obtained fake documents and then enlisted in the Waffen SS in France and served the rest of the war in combat under his assumed identity, any idea?

I watched an interview with him maybe 15 years ago it was when light was first shed on people with Jewish heritage in the German war machine. It may have been on the history channel over the Rigg's book.

This particular man joined the waffen ss in France and served throughout the war.
