Panzer Cap Trapezoid, Edelweiss patch, Albanian shield, Croatian Shield

Hey everyone, got these items today. Wanted opinions if everything seems legitimate or if there are things that appear not right. They were part of a larger lot of memorabilia that was broken up by "type" (SS, Luftwaffe, RLB, general items) Only cost me $110 at auction so if they do turn out to be fake, I won't be too upset about it. I am going to attach photos with and without flash of the fronts and backs. Not sure how long these were owned privately before going up for sale. They came in a sealed container with glass front and that padding behind them. Can post additional photos if requested.

    1. Bevo Waffen-SS Panzer Cap Trapezoid
    2. ALBANIAN SS VOLUNTEER SLEEVE SHIELD
    3. CROATIAN SS VOLUNTEER SLEEVE SHIELD
    4. WAFFEN-SS GEBIRGSTRUPPEN SLEEVE EDELWEISS PATCH
    5. NS-REICHSKRIEGERBUND “RHEIN” CUFFTITLE

    Thanks!

I posted this a couple months ago and got all A's across the board. I've stumbled upon a post on another forum from 2019 where Walter Kanzler is purported to have found crate(s) of Croatian insignia, unissued. The thread continues on to to identify the Algerian as fake as well. Thread implies he re-sold or disseminated many of these "found" items to other dealers. Thread lists links to these items for sale on multiple dealer sites, some with good reputations and large annual earnings and others with soiled reputations that are well know. Wittman's included - after seeing some of his photos holding flags in his "workshop" surrounded by shelves of spare dagger and other parts including him getting caught modifying an SS sword, I don't think I'll ever buy from him. Hobby is now flooded with these fake shields. Moving on - I now believe at least the two volunteer shields to be fake and am unsure of the Edelweiss and the BeVo Panzer skull, but thinking they are fake at this point as well. None of the items fluoresce as I mentioned in my initial post, but we know that is not a final say on authenticity. So what made people on here think these were all good? At this point I've accepted the volunteer shields are fake. A dealer who has several listings on their site for just the two shields offered me $360 for the lot. But only if I include the Panzer trapezoid. So that makes me wonder about that one.

                Akriener,
All 5 pieces of insignia you posted are original. The Albanian shields typically have more white threads on reverse but that one looks ok. If you post these with repro prices on the estand they will sell immediately!

The shields are good. They are however not rare as they were found in the many thousands in Dachau in 1945 and that is why you see them on almost every dealers site.

Where is your proof? You just randomly saying they're authentic being of the threading means nothing. Where is the source of knowledge that says that about the threads?

Again, where are your sources on information regarding this?

I don't see how you can confidently say these are fine when Walter is a known repro dealer and they match exactly what he has listed.

"So and so told me so" doesn't count as a legitimate source of information.

If you don’t believe us, search the forum, there are plenty of threads with originals and fakes of all 4 of the SS insignias you have posted.

I'm not saying I don't believe you, but there are too many posts and too many people on this forum that say "ABC is good" but don't:

                          1. Say why
                          2. How they know that

The closest things I have found is the book Himmler's SS: Loyal to the Death's Head by Robin Lumsden and the book SS Hitler's Foreign Divisions: Foreign Volunteers in the Waffen-SS 1940–45 by Chris Bishop. No mention of anything Algerian, however.

These items came from Cannons Auctions in Virginia. When I got the package, the case and glass they were in (what they are pictured in) was really grimy. I imagine it'd been sitting awhile. This was one of several estate lots from a grouping of German items that were being sold by "type" i.e. Luftwaffe grouping, SS grouping, RLB grouping etc.

I don't mean to go full Asberger here, but you mean Albanian as you will never find anything Algerian related to the Waffen-SS.

By the way, if you want to sell the shields for repro prize, send me a PM and I will PayPal you the money instantly, ok?
