SS-Ehrenring Güthling : opinions & infos on the guy ?

this SS-Ehrenring is said to be the one of Johannes Güthling.
I'm sorry for the low & ugly quality pictures...

I'm interested by having your opinions on the ring and if you may have more infos on the guy it could be terrific.

Everything looks good to me except that bad skull. I wonder if the original skull was severely damaged at some point and got replaced with this bad skull???

Hi,

actually the ring is not for me, but for a friend (i do not plan any day soon to buy an SS-Ehrenring myself).

I proposed him to post the pictures, to get opinions on it, as i'm a noob on the subject.

So yes, any opinion is welcome... The friend don't know what to think...

What is your opinion Antonio on this ring ?

I’m not Antonio of course, but I think the ring itself (sans skull) is about as perfect as one can be. This opinion is only from photos but this is far from a “hideous” fake and one that I see as original. The skull, specifically the mouth area has some obvious problems, but I am not sure it is fake or post war added either. The problems with the teeth could be attributed to poor hand detailing or restoration after some kind of damage, not sure but I’m a long way from writing this off. If fake, they have the band details Nailed!
