    Unknow kriegsmarine optical equipment.

Greetings! i wanted to ask the hivemind about this strange optical equipment. It looks kriegsmarine in colour and im maybe thinking some kind of rangefinder or theodolite. Anybody that can help me with this one? unfortunately i dont have any pictures but these ones.

It’s a theodolite used for tracking the information being printed onto rolls of paper
I still have a few rolls of the paper
I had a Km marked one used to track vi rockets launched from towed barges
It ended up in the imperial war museum

Thank you, do you know what price these go for. The seller wants 260 dollars.

I reckon 260 dollars is a fair price for each of the little scopes (on a good day). For 260 dollars for the whole outfit seems incredibly cheap. So I'd say go for it - if you want to track missiles.

This photo is from Sephen Rohan's book "Eyes of the Wehrmacht".

Steve says the photo is taken at the Peenemünde rocket research facility. He acctually wants to show the 10x80 80 degrees in the background. The other device he calls a phototheodolite.
It seams you have found a rare piece!

Thanks everybody. Finally after a misunderstanding with the seller it is mine!(he was also selling a tractor at the same time and messaged me that it was sold) So the only purpose of these were tracking of rockets or were they used by flak units also?

In essence this model, the Drucktheodolit 17was only used by Flak crews - Ringtrichterrichtungshörer squads to be more precise.

Was the model year really as early as 17?
Or, is it just a model 17, unrelated to 1917.

I don't quiet understand the use of this device at a flak battery.
Peter can you give us an explanation?

Are you sure about the model 17?
The only official reference I have found to it is in a manual called Luftwaffe dienstvorschrift 608. And there it is named m37. I have only seen one type of the printing version.
