Zeiss B.-F.r. 10x45 fur Em.4mR. (H)

I lucked into this piece recently. It’s a Zeiss B.-F.r. 10x45 fur Em.4mR. (H) Beobachtungsfernrohr. It originally mounted to a 4m rangefinder. It is numbered 22 on top and came with a nicely done mount that fits to the monfrotto tripod you see. What really interested me are the four filter colors. I tried to get a shot of each. I’m only familiar with grey filters on my 10x80’s, so the orange, red and yellow were a surprise. Not sure what conditions the red was intended for. It’s a bit smokey here due to fires, so not great views. The glass is pretty clear. Here is a link to some detailed info I found online.

I came across another of these pieces. Interestingly, the filter selections on this one are all shades of grey that increase in darkness instead of the colored ones on the previous one in this post. Optics are excellent. Green paint is applied over ordinance tan. The triangular attachment plate is brass.

The optics for the rangefinder.
So often the base plates have been removed.
In this one the filters are grey.

Yellow will increase the contrast to very dark objects, used in shooting glasses ( target shooting) so in low light scenarios.
Red is used to not damage the eyes night vision. Maybe when watching strongly objects?
Grey is obvious.
Would love what the other colours do!

I have had a black coloured textured surfaced example in the past, it too had the deep red coloured filter which is quite startling.
