Help with dating 10x80 flakfernrohr and 10x scherenfernrohr

    Hi all,

I’ve posted some pictures previously of these sets and wondering if you can help with a date range manufacture. Any thoughts are appreciated.

      Marko,

      Great collection [emoji95][emoji1303][emoji95]

The tri-colour S.F.14 is deffo pre war to early war period. It’s been back to the optics repair shop at some point after Aug 8th 1942 & had the Blue X stamped indicating lubricating grease good to -40c.

My early JD Moeller has had the same treatment but is not in tri-colour. It’s “Panzer Grey”

My Hensoldt Tri-colour has also been serviced post Aug 8th 42.

Your 10X80 again excellent set & I think early to mid war production.

Here is a fantastic book on the subject that will answer all your questions and more on the subject. Perfect reading for those cold Alaskan nights.

Thanks for the info. Any thoughts on the rarity/ value of the small tripod for the scherenfernrohr? I’ve seen some wartime photos of them in use, but never for sale.

I'm sure I've seen one at Ebay.de today.
