Head Lamp Question?

Hello all and thanks in advance for any help.
I have heard these head lamps are several things...MG Gunner Lamp...Luftwaffe Lamp....General purpose lamp.
So what exactly are they?

I thought other members would answer your question.

If not mistaken, this kind of headlamp was kept and tranported in the "Beleuchtungsgerät für Strichsplatte" box. Such box contained the bakelite torch combined with the head lamp (in a canvas pouch), a battery box (for three batteries) to be used with an optic reticle lamp, 11 spare bulbs, 4 standard torch batteries.

There are 2 or 3 variations of headlamp, 4 or 5 of battery boxes, 2 of transport cases.

Most probably handed to who ever needed it for field use. Artillery, machine gunners, observers, or who ever had an optic or needed some light for service duty might have got a set. Please see these other threads for further information:
