    Busch KM bino?

A friend of mine found this.
I have never seen KM markings on a Busch bino before

Looks good - I have one too. They also did 6x30 binoculars for the KM and I've previously shown my early Reichsmarine marked Busch Dienstglas 6x30 here too.

The Marluxon was introduced in 1913 and made until probably 1939/40. It saw some military use by Sweden and Finland, and a small number were also used by the German Kriegsmarine.

      ...I suspect they're quite rare?

        They are not common.

I cannot help thinking these may be german war booty from another country.
Then used by the kriegsmarine, and having the eagle added to show this.

The markings does not look like other german unit or "use" designations.
Has anyone seen documentation for the markings? Or details on when, or where, the german navy bought these?

If they were war booty, then there probably should be similarly marked binoculars, but without the german eagle.

I doubt they're booty remarked for the KM. My Busch 6x30 Dienstglas with "drop wing" Eagle was made in the 1930's for the early KM so it seems only reasonable that the same company would continnue to supply (allbeit in small numbers) to the rapidly expanded KM.

I can see your point. Only that does not explain the navy markings.

                              I found this:
                              http://www.icollector.com/Scarce-SS-...cate_i17061908

If serial 222064 is from 1935, then, your bino, being 14.000 lower will fit that early eagle.
But at least that early eagle do show they did mark Busch bino´s with eagle like that.

I did speculate if they might be norwegian, originally.
Norway, Estland, Letland and Lituania must have had some kind of navy binoculars. And they could all have been taken by the germans.

But then again. You may be right. Can just be plain deliveries to the german navy.
