    Russian Zeiss?

    Thought I had bought these
    Sale room strikes again.
Zeiss? Not St Petersburg. Or are they.
I have some prism plate pics.

We can't post the photos of the plates on your behalf as it is against WAF rules, but if you could post up a description of the plates and what they say it might do the job .

I believe these were made at the Zeiss factory after it was taken over by the Russian government much like the London Zeiss factory binoculars marked ross after they took it over

Saleroom looks a lot like this one. Several characters stands out sufficiently to correlate to the latest added photo

Carl Zeiss St. Petersburg. In russian. What is there to translate ??

This one is a later type, I think.

It looks like an early Podolsk Optical Factory (POZ) made 6x30 (between 1920 and 1922). Rare model.

Thanks for the pictures. It's a 1916 year Podolsk Optical Factory (POZ) made 8x model. Very rare.

Did they just copy the Zeiss logo. Put their name in it?
What about the 1916? & the 8* bit!

May I be wrong, but not Zeiss St. Petersburg :

Left plate: General directorate of military industries
                            Podolsky optical factory
Right plate: Prismatic binoculars 6x + serial number and year (1926 ???) that i don't read.
