    Need an evaluation on these ranging binos...

    I was at an antique shop today and found what looks like an original WW2 German ranging binocular set. The device seems to be in good condition with OK optics. Since I primarily collect German pre-war 35mm photographica, this is out of my area of expertise. Can one of you bino experts enlighten me on what this device is, if it is definitely war-era and what a realistic price range might be.

      It is a flak 10x80 binoculars, with cradle and direction drum.
      You can find them on Ebay, just as shown in the latest reply before this one.

      The really interesting part is the tripod. I wonder what that is for.

          I have seen a similar tripod with a Goertz Signallamp on top .

            I think Zeissasembi is closer to the truth. Even this bino is too heavy for that tripod.
            I have had a couple of the MG tripods, and they are bigger, and they have larger levers, where the legs connects to the center part.
