df 10x80 kriegsmarine

Hi !

Im looking for info, site where was mounted DF 10 x 80 Kriegsmarine with 20 degrees inclined eyepieces. I have two of them from one "gun" bunkier. For what kind of gun KM used this ?

They were used for observation, and signaling. Both on larger ships and onshore.

They were not connected directly to a specific piece of artillery.
For that purpose the german navy used other types of optics.

I have seen, but did not get a photo, a large steel dome 1.5 meter high, where a 10x80 20 degree was on top. I was told it was a sighting set for a seperate torpedo launcher. I do not know which type of ship. And it may have beena postwar adaption. I saw it in the 1980-ies, when it was scheduled for scrapping.
