My point is they were in original untouched condition with good usable optics they did not need restoration

agree on the leave alone idea...yet i can live with the restoration....., about devalued them...not necessarily..its a good set...and maybe that restoration paint could come off ..as it appears to only be in the places where paint was gone....other than that don't think that demerits them ...
