    Question about Zeiss Silvamar

Going through my Bino collection and found a Carl Zeiss Jena Silvamar 6X30 with a serial number of 2013341. It also has reticle, no other markings. The serial number is late 40 or 41? Also has a 3 screw plate.
Are they Military or possible Para-military? I could post some photos later if need be.
    Thanks in advance. D. L.

Are these made prior to 1945, again they have a reticle as well.
          Thank you. D. L.

Serial number 2103341 was manufactured around november 1941.
As part of an order for 2000 6x30.
I believe it to be for the german army.

In my experience WW2 era German military type binos (3 screws per plate and washer retaining screws) with civilian names are usually export models (for Bulgaria etc) or for non military German officials (like RFV marked ones).

I thought the only German Army issued Silvamars were from the 20's (and usually marked with Dienstglas).

But there's always the exception to the rule to keep things interesting.

I forgot you have a Busch military type with a civilian name for RFV - you have some nice and unusual binos!

I admit it could be an export order.
The contact number gave no clue. And, unfortunately, I havenĀ“t found out how contract numbers are generated.
Someone has to go to Jena and look into the archives.
( I have been there, but only managed to see the optical museum there.)

As you rightly said, the Marineglas was the military version of the Silvamar (same optical scheme and same body shape), but during the First World War Silvamar was also built expressly for military use. I have one of the Zeiss of Wien a with cross reticle typically Austrian, and the big button for interpupillary fixing..
