For Royal Navy ships - but some were transferred to Poland during WW2;
But like the phoenix the Polish Navy was to re-emerge. Losses in ships were made good by transferring mainly British ships, for example, HMS Garland became the ORP Garland (the Poles retaining the tradition of this old Royal Navy name).

By the way - is this the sad remains of a Polish Navy binocular?

See this thread in British and Commonwelath section, some photos of the HA telescope on its director mount , also a mint example of the telescope and some info on it.
The threat deals with the two optical devices shown in use in the period photo which was taken on board HMS King George V.

Yes definately a rangefinder.
In my own mind I am tring to sort out the how the purely optically based RF jells with one which is radar directed.
Attached another view of the same system and another of a directors position
employing Ross 7x50's and a Barr and Stroud GK7, again on a rangefinder but the unit appears much larger.
