    German pre war binocular... civilian model?

    Hello,

    Bought this on a flea market, hoping it was a WW2 German model. From doing some research I found out it is probably a civilian model. I have difficulties determining the maker.

    The only word I can really read is "Kassel"... the word in front of it looks like "EFROELKH"... I dont find anything on the internet. On the other half it reads "diana 6x30".

    Are there people here who can give more info?
    Greetings!

        An alloy version;

        The name Diana was also used by Beck Kassel - so maybe a clue there?

          An old thread but interesting!

          This pair was distributed by the retailer Optische Anstalt E. Froelich, Kassel.

          Beside binocular models made by other manufacturers the company produced a couple of civil models itself.

          In a 1931 ad were offered: 6x and 8x30 Jagdglas Diana, advertised as very suitable for hunters. In a 1938 leaflet we can find:
          10x45 Mars
          12x40 Saturn
          8x50 Hela-Nox

          After the war E. Froelich continued to run his business by the end of the 1940s. The company still exist in Kassel and is specialised in repairing old binoculars.

          I'm collecting Froelich copies and called several times the grandson of E. Froelich.
