    Optics detail?

    Hello!

I've got this detail and i'm very curious to know what it is. So far, i've tried several forums but got no answer.
I think this detail might be somehow connected with optics, considering the material which is aluminium and this strange wheels in the centre. Inside this detail has iron screw from one end and also iron detail from the other end. It has a lot of Waffenamt markings on it . See the pictures.
I'd very much like to hear your opinions and hopefully get a lot of information about this detail.

    Thank you in advice!

It beats me - but usually I'd expect to see only one Waffenamt.

To me, the way the eagles are stamped, indicate this has been assembled from parts for something else.
Somehow, the 4 rollers in the middle doesn´t fit in.

Or, the solution may be the obvious one: This is for an army bakery. To make Waffenamt approved breads for the troops.

          Heh heh.

No, I think it may have been assembled from parts for something else. Maybe the WaA numbers could give a hint at which company made it. Besides, where there is a WaA there ought to be a company code.

Thanks for the answers, everyone! This detail is kind of mystery to me, the more i search, the more curious i get
Yeah, i also think it's a part of something bigger, i'll try getting any hints from the WaA code.
It seems to be most likely a part of optics, but might be connected with Luftwaffe as well, coz its aluminium.

LW items would have a LW Waffenamt stamp...

                Not sure it's big enough!

If the big knurled bits are only 6 cm long.
I assume that they were not as they are now.
Not big enough for your hand. But more a knob attached to something individually?
More like a friction/compression stop for something?

I'm sorry, this may be a stupid question, but what exactly is an euphemism? Couldn't google it. Thanks

                    Euphemism.
A word used instead of a rude or offensive one.
In this case a rude one!
Not my intention, looked like 2 handles for a periscope to me.
