Stativ - what type?

I aquired old military stativ/tripod for optics. It seems, that it is german, but I don ´t know, what type is it. It matched with SF 14 Gi, but it is not Gestell 40 or 31. Could you anybody give me more info about this stativ? Pictures are on following links.

Could be an older version. May even be WWI issue.
Or for use with a smaller richtgerät.

I have several of these as well, and if you check photo´s on the web, you will see it used with several differnt optics.

Oups..did´t see the close up. If it really IS a ball mount of a kind, it´s for an older rangefinder. Something like the Entfernungsmesser 16 or the like.

The same stativ is in Seeger´s book on page 192, pics. 113 with WWI Goerz SF14.
