    What are the differences between a wartime and a post war 6X30 bakelite case ?

        You should be able to read that from the producer´s marking in the bakelite.

        I have seen a key to these markings in a german magazine many years ago. It must be available on the web as well.

        If you find markings that do not match wartime codes, my guess is you have a postwar item. Only I cannot say what to look for.
        Apart from the east german border guards, I don´t know for who it should have been made.
        After all it would be a definitely military product and exports of such was forbidden. I think that leaves east germany as the possibility.
