Pre WWI Zeiss Jena Scope. Anyone Identify?

Hi All,
Below is a scope that my father picked up a few years back. The style and construction is very similar to a couple of British gun sights that we've been able to identify as late 19th Century.
The only markings on it are a small serial number and the manufacturer's name cast into the mount.
The small right-angle eye piece swivels freely and is removable, with a tinted cover that pivots over the lens.
The spirit level suggests that it possibly is supposed to be mounted vertically.
If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

Hi Christian, not sure what's going on with the image. It comes up fine for me.

The bottom mount looks like an adaption of a mount for the german Zeiss Scherenfernrohr 09, or one of the even earlier models. Say 1903-04-05.

If so, turn the photo 90 degree counterclockwise, and try to compare with such a SF mount.

My guess is this is what a german would call Bastelarbeit.
Or in english: homebuild modification.

I don´t know what the top part is. Maybe a telescope from a level instrument, turned 90 degree along the axis? The gear for adjusting sharpness is usually seen on the underside of such a tubus.
