DUCATI BIMAR KRIEGSMARINE DF 10x80 20°

I offer the view of the magnificent restoration of my DUCATI BIMAR 10x80 DF KRIEGSMARINE performed by Luca Mazzoleni a big Italian-optical restorer repair.
Between photos there is a second original exemplary dark gray offered for sale by DUCATI in the Italian civilian market in 1947.
    Yours sincerely

Carlo Rossi - Binomania collaborator in Italy

Thank you for sharing this with us. Great binoculars.
The cradel and the tripod looks interesting. Does Mr. Mazzoleni sell those?

Or is this the cradel for a civilian Ducati?

My google translator does not translate the word cradel.
The tripod is original civil DUCATI.
Luca Mazzoleni has no spare parts. He refurbishes anything.

If by writing cradel , you mean the fork, the answer is:
yes cradel and tripod are the original civil Ducati Bimar

              ciao ciao Carlo Rossi

                Try " Cradle " instead

beautifull, but to me not a piece I would keep for my collection, because of the restauration, the original character is gone forever

I partially agree with you, and I thought just the same before another collector who has professionally restored some items from his collection asked me ho can I be sure which part of the wear on my items has been done before end of the war.

I started to think, and he is right.

Bottomline, anyone can do whatever makes him happy, and I don't feel bad with such nice restorations as long as it is noted to a buyer if it's ever offered for sale.

A good point! When you think that any WW2 binocular (ones used only during WW2) would have at most 5 years of wear - and up to 68 years of post war wear and tear.

So the only ones you can be sure of wear wise are pristine, never issued - or ones locked away since 1945.

Personally I don't mind honest wear and tear - even if from use after WW2. After all - apart from being collectable - optics are made to be used and enjoyed!
