Try and google Riefenstahl and olympic games 1936.
I think, I can recall having seen one like this in use there.

Doesn´t it say Ernst Leitz about at the middle of the optic?
Leitsz did make some seriously large lenses in that period. Including large IR lenses.

Looks okay, and yes, real.
(I have one almost like it for a Hasselblad camera.)
