To be exactly the binocular BEH is a Leitz and the case is made for Carl Zeiss so it's a put together lot what the plates concern i would like to see better close-ups

Ebay makes their own rules, do we have to cover the Swastika on this forum?

I think someone may have reinstated the Eagle. It looks a little basic for a Leitz version but I believe it should be there (going by the serial number). Maybe someone's tidied it up a little - many were scratched off after the war...

Id like to see more of the zeiss case. It must be for the tall 7x50 zeiss navy glass that is similar to the beh glass. More close ups of the plates are needed. I for one don't see any issues. But, I haven't looked at a set of leitz tuna cans in a while.

I'm not liking this one at all. The case is wrong. The numbers are really high for an eagle stamping. The "N" number is out of sequence with the corresponding serial number...(should be much lower) and the eagle, as stated, is too simple for a Leitz. The whole ensemble is made-up IMO.

I don't like them. The eagle is a Zeiss version while the binos are Leitz!
As for the case, it was obviously made for Zeiss 7X50H model.

                    bino

If you decide to pass on them, let me know. I would like to buy them just for the case. H model cases are tough to find.

Eagles are found on 40xxxx series models - see on this very forum

I think it's just been reinstated after being scratched out after the war. It's not the end of the world to find a Leitz binocular in a Zeiss case. Maybe the Zeiss binocular was lost or damaged and the Leitz case fell apart...

A short comment on ebay rules.
They do not make their own rules.

In a french court ebay were accused of promoting Fascism and Nazism by allowing the sale of items with a swastika.

Under french law that is illegal.

I don´t know if ebay f...ed up their defense, didn´t take the trial serious, or just didn´t care.

They lost, and according to the ruling of the court, either ebay banned swastika´s or ebay could not operate legally in France.
Their international sites were deemed part of the french ebay operation.

So, ebay had to either miss all trade coming out of their french sites + missing goodwill elsewhere, or ban swastika´s.
Apparently Ebay.fr was expected to make more money than all WWII item trade´s on ebay sites combined. (probably correct)

So, it is not eBay, but french laws that decided the issue.

Just about any other country in the world has been able to dissociate Neonazism and WWII items.
As long as you clearly state that you are interested in items from a historical viewpoint, it is legal even in Germany.

One fine day France may get legislation that isn´t made up by left wing fanatics, or kids. Until that day, we cannot expect ebay to allow Swastika´s.

I, for one, wonder how a left wing activist in France will teach his kids what a swastika once stood for, when the kids are not allowed to see it at all.

I think a similar situation exists in Japan - schoolchildren aren't taught about the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere and Japan's role in WW2. Winston Churchill said 'Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.' Cheery thought!
