Thought I'd show you some pictures of the torpedo aiming optic we found in the Heinkel He 115 that was raised from Hafrsfjord in June. Not bad condition considering it's been in the sea for 70 years.
The white stuff is what's left of the cast aluminium parts. That goes for the whole aircraft, everything made of cast aluminium is gone, duraluminium is untouched and still has original anodizing, primer and paint, no sign of corrosion at all.
